Heinz's new hash browns filled with baked beans divides the internet

What are your thoughts on this?

Two of the biggest components of a nice Kiwi big breakfast are bakes beans and hash browns, and they’re being put together in a food marriage for the ages.

Heinz is releasing hash browns filled with baked beans. They’re set to be released in the UK at the start of September, and people are having strong, but mixed reactions to the new invention.

WalesOnline says that the new food will “consist of an outer layer of crispy chopped potato that surrounds a core of beans,” which sounds intriguing, but we wonder how the two foods will combine.

Will the sauce of the beans make the hash browns soggy? How big will the hash browns be to fit a good amount of beans in? We’ll have to wait for answers to these pressing questions.

They’ll come frozen and all you’ll have to do is chuck them in the oven or air fryer before you munch on them.

Reactions are mixed, with Twitter users on both the ‘for’ and ‘against’ sides letting their opinions be known. Some are saying it's an abomination, while others see it as an example of British ‘greatness’.

“Who asked for this evil?” said one tweet.

“Would - WILL - 100% smash,” tweeted out an eager beans lover.

“This is the worst timeline,” another person said. One person disagreed with this, saying “anyone not into this idea is a coward.”

One Twitter user summed it up beautifully when they said: “I’m kind of repulsed and intrigued at the same time".

There were lots of tweets simply asking the age-old question - ‘why?’

“Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should,” said one tweet that sums up the whole ‘why?’ argument.

Another person was simply wondering how Heinz will execute the potential new breakfast staple.

“How many beans tho,” asked one person. “They would need to be at least sausage roll size for optimum bean/hash brown ratio".

We're sure these will save time when it comes to making breakfast, but we wonder if the kids will love it.
