Dolly Parton reacts to the sequel of "Jolene" created and performed by fans at AGT

"From 1973 to 2020, we cannot be still fighting over the same man"

"Jolene" by Dolly Parton is an absolute classic.

The Chapel Hart Band created an original song inspired by the original, and it's almost like a sequel to the song "Jolene".

The trio took their original to the stage and auditioned for America's Got Talent and the performance was loved by all.

The song's title is self-explanatory "You can have him Jolene", and the lyrics are as incredible as their voices.

The trio shared that they have always been country music fans and Dolly Parton has always been their absolute favourite.

"And we figured though, from 1973 to 2020, we cannot be still fighting over the same man. So we decided to tell her you can just have him Jolene" Danica explained to the judges.

We were as impressed as the judges were!

"I like that" Howie said right after.

"I love that" Simon Cowell added.

The legend herself, Dolly Parton shared their performance on Twitter and said, "What a fun new take on my song, @ChapelHartBand!".

"Carl's birthday is today so I think I'll hang on to him, and I'm not notifying Jolene that today is his birthday" she joked.

Chapel Hart Band opened up about wanting to get their big break but they believe the reason why they haven't got one yet, is because "country music doesn't look always like" them.

"Sometimes you've just got to break down that door," Simon said.

Howie proceeds to add, " You say country music doesn't look like you, that is your win! Because you are going to be the original."

Despite the judges having no golden buzzers left to use, the group still got a "special" golden buzzer, so they will be heading directly to the live shows! Well deserved.
