Hands Up For Hospice

The Breeze is proud to be behind another year of Hands Up For Hospice with the goal to raise 3.5 million dollars for Nelson Tasman Hospice.
2 May 2024

Hands Up for Hospice, championed by sponsor NBS in 2024, is a bi-annual campaign for Nelson Tasman Hospice.

The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the impact of our work in the community, to bring the community together and celebrate their loved ones and to raise much-needed funds to ensure that we can continue to provide our services.

You can get involved in the following ways…

High Tea

Host a High Tea for/with your friends, family, co-workers and raise money to support free specialist palliative care in our community.

It can be a traditional high tea or it can be something completely different – how you do it is up to you! It’s all about getting together and fundraising for our continued services in the community.

Host

Our compassionate community raise money for our service at all kinds of events throughout the year. From online craft auctions to putting up Halloween decorations, to running a marathon. Do you have an idea to Host and put your Hands Up for Hospice this May?

Or go along and support one of the many public events scheduled - you can find these on our website too.

Heave

A friendly tug-of-war competition between teams from local businesses, sports groups and organisations.

Sponsored by More FM, 'Heave for Hospice' will be staged at Upper Trafalgar Street on the 31st of May at 4pm.

Alongside the teams, supporters are encouraged to fill up the spectator spaces.

Raise

Stand out from the crowd plus give back – it's a win-win!

Donate a portion of your sales to Nelson Tasman Hospice - any size business can make a difference!

Or go along and support one of the many businesses putting their Hands up for Hospice this May - you can find these on the Raise page of our website too.

By putting your hand up to help, you'll help us provide free specialist palliative care to around 210 patients in our community each month.
